City Center construction nears completion; grand opening set for Nov. 6

At the Sept. 18 EDC meeting, staff updated the board on construction progress at the City Center and announced a rescheduled grand opening for Nov. 6, 2025, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Staff said flooring in the working spaces is complete, acoustical plaster ceiling work in the banquet hall is scheduled to finish over the weekend, and furniture deliveries will begin the following Monday. Exterior work noted included foundation and concrete pours and placement of the monument sign foundation and ACM panels on the building exterior. Staff said they expect to occupy the building before the Nov. 6 event but set the date to ensure the project is complete. The update also listed upcoming community events, including National Night Out on Oct. 7 and the Tyler EDC annual meeting on Oct. 23, where the EDC will have a table. Staff did not report any change orders or actions requiring board approval during the public portion of the meeting.
