He said classrooms should "foster an environment where students can explore ideas, weigh evidence, and arrive at their own conclusions," adding that teachers should present multiple perspectives rather than impose personal views.
A second speaker, Mr. Feldman, spoke about radiofrequency exposure from personal devices and cell-site installations. He demonstrated a handheld measurement device and argued that multiple phones can raise measured signal readings in a confined area. Feldman suggested the district consider phone-signal-blocking bags for student devices and noted concerns about small cell antennas and site placements near playgrounds and athletic fields. He said he would provide handouts and research to the district.
Board members did not take action during the meeting based on these comments but listened to the concerns and later continued to the business portion of the agenda.
