Elmwood Park schools recognize teachers awarded tenure

The Elmwood Park CUSD 401 Board of Education and district administrators recognized teachers granted tenure for the 2025 school year and presented them with tokens of appreciation.
Superintendent Dr. Gautje invited building administrators and tenured staff to the front of the Media Center for individual recognition. Administrators from Elm Middle School, Elmwood Elementary, John Mills School and Elmwood Park High School announced the names and roles of tenured staff members, including classroom teachers and specialists.
Among those named from Elm Middle School were Tom Deneen (sixth-grade math), Therese Nolan (eighth-grade science and honors biology) and Allison Tribula (speech-language pathologist). Elmwood Elementary announced Laura Sullivan, a reading specialist, among others. John Mills School and Elmwood Park High School administrators also read lists of teachers who had achieved tenure; the board presented each honoree with an Amazon gift card and gave a round of applause.
Board members offered brief personal remarks recognizing long service and homegrown talent; one board member noted knowing a honoree "for 27 years" and praised the district's continuity of staff.
Administrators said the event was a chance to celebrate educators' long-term commitment to students and to acknowledge years of classroom service.
