Committee members also reported that the high-school construction project is nearing closeout. Officials said two late contractor change orders—work completed nearly a year prior—were reviewed by the construction manager and approved after documentation was provided; the district accepted the legitimacy of those late submissions as part of contract closeout. Officials said remaining encumbrances include construction testing and inspection that may not be fully spent and that further contract payments will be processed in the coming months.
The board voted to approve the RFQ award and to authorize advertising and procurement activity under the Guaranteed Energy Savings Act. The motions carried on voice votes with no recorded nays or abstentions.
Next steps: The district will proceed with ESCO selection steps under the Act, continue contract closeout for the high-school project and pay remaining contractor invoices per the construction manager’s recommendations.
