Commission approves 2025 cooperative marketing grant agreement with Utah Office of Tourism

The Carbon County Board of Commissioners approved the 2025 cooperative marketing grant agreement with the Utah Office of Tourism and the Governor’s Office of Economic Opportunity. Tina, who presented the item, said the county requested $61,000 but was awarded $32,500; with the required local match the total marketing budget will be $65,000.
Tina explained the grant process: the county will invoice the Utah Office of Tourism for 50% of the award up front and receive the remaining 50% after filing the final report. She said the state now accepts digital signatures and that she will email the governor’s office the contact information and signature details to complete the agreement.
Commissioners thanked Tina for pursuing grants to reduce costs for county taxpayers and approved the grant agreement by voice vote. Tina said she will prepare and send the invoice and follow the state’s digital signature process.
Next steps: Tina will transmit the county contact and signature information to the governor’s office and submit the initial invoice for 50% of the awarded funds.
