Templeton capital committee authorizes chair to seek updates from departments, tightens guidance on $10,000 threshold

On Wednesday, Sept. 17, the Town of Templeton Capital Improvements Committee voted to authorize its chair to send updated capital-request forms to town departments for prior-year projects that were not funded and to approve updated capital forms and a draft schedule for the FY2027 capital cycle. The actions aim to enforce the committee's bylaw duty to review capital items meeting the $10,000 threshold and to collect a six‑year plan of proposed projects. Immediate past chair Justice Graves said the committee's “authority is that we review all capital items with a purchasing cost of $10,000 or more” and noted the committee was created by town meeting and must review capital appropriations before they go to Town Meeting for a vote.
