HRA director to report back on assisted-living and elder-care stakeholder outreach

The Housing and Redevelopment Authority was told staff are conducting outreach with regional stakeholders to assess prospects for assisted-living and elder-care housing in the county. Jeff, the HRA director, said he has been meeting with partners and plans to present a detailed update at the October or November meeting.
"I continue to meet with stakeholders in our region and in our local area to talk about the, possibility of some assisted living and elder care," Jeff said, adding that his goal is to "get a temperature feel amongst our partners" before returning to the full board. He told commissioners the later report will collect the meetings' details so commissioners do not each have to attend multiple separate conversations.
No formal proposals, funding requests or site-specific plans were presented at the meeting. The director indicated the forthcoming report will detail where outreach has gone and what next steps the board may need to consider.
