County workforce board schedules free job fair Oct. 15 at Nogales High School

Sayeda Bustamante, local Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) board director, invited residents and employers to a free job fair and community expo on Oct. 15 at the Nogales High School gymnasium from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Bustamante said roughly 70 employers had signed up and that past years drew about 700 job seekers. Employers will include restaurant, retail, financial, law enforcement, military branches, school employers, local government and logistics industries; training institutions will also attend so job seekers can learn about certification programs tied to positions.
The event will offer free transportation for job seekers from designated pickup points (Walmart and JCPenney) to the gymnasium and back. The organizer encouraged employers and job seekers to contact the WIOA office at 610 North Morley Avenue or check social media for updates.
No board action was required; the announcement was a department report and public invitation.
