Policy Committee Chair Joanne Chan presented the revisions and noted the policies had been reviewed by the committee and were approved for first read on Aug. 28. A motion to adopt both policies was moved, seconded and passed with a recorded voice vote of 5-0.
The adopted attendance policy includes the district''s procedures for interventions when students demonstrate chronic absenteeism; the adopted code-of-conduct language makes explicit that AI-generated writing, coding, research or images are prohibited unless a classroom teacher authorizes such use.
Board members voted in favor 5-0; no amendments were offered during the meeting. The policies will be incorporated into district policy documents and enforced by school administration.
