LaSALLE COUNTY — The LaSalle County Highway Committee voted to award a bridge replacement contract in Brookfield Township to Gillen Construction for $389,920.10, the low responsive bid, county staff said during the committee meeting.
County highway staff told the committee four bids were received: Gillen Construction at $389,920.10; Illinois Valley Excavating at $438,476.25; Deconstruction (bid) at $393,782.20; and Toby’s Construction at about $580,429.00. "I recommend we award it to Gillen Construction for $389,920.10 as they are earning the engineer's estimate," a highway staff member said. The committee approved the award on a voice vote; the motion was made and carried during the letting report.
