MCPS begins FY27 0‑based operating budget process; staffing standards work group to meet Sept. 29

Montgomery County Public Schools staff told the Fiscal Management Committee on Sept. 17 that the district has begun building the fiscal 2027 operating budget using a 0‑based approach that asks offices to justify positions and expenses. Yvonne Alfonso Windsor, chief financial officer, said offices are preparing submissions this month and that the superintendent will release a proposed FY27 operating budget in December 2025.
