The Logansport Board of Public Works and Safety on Sept. 17 approved an agreement with American Legal Publishing to recodify and update the city's municipal code.

Board members said the last complete code book the city had on hand dated to 2013, and the recodification is intended to consolidate ordinances and make the code easier for staff, the city council and the public to use. The contract includes legal analysis and updating of the city's ordinances, although the board did not discuss specific dollar figures during the meeting.

Board members characterized the action as a long‑overdue administrative modernization that will help the city maintain clearer, searchable records of council actions and regulations. The motion to approve the recodification contract passed unanimously.
