The Finance and Budget committee met Wednesday, Sept. 17, 2025, and approved an expenditure list totaling $570,513.12.
Commissioner O'Neil asked about “claim number 2050 on page 22, the law enforcement vehicle camera subscription. It's like $6,850. So what does it mean by subscription?”
A staff member responded, “Commissioner O'Neil, they do not, we don't purchase software anymore. It's all, called subscription as a service. And so, it's a subscription that allows us to when they take their either from their body cams or from their cameras in their vehicle and it uploads it to, like, storage on the cloud. And so they hold that, information for us. We don't store any of that ourselves, and it's just all by subscription.”
After questions, a motion to approve the expenditure list for Wednesday, Sept. 17, 2025, in the amount of $570,513.12 was made and seconded and approved by voice vote.
The exchange clarified that the $6,850 line item is recorded as a subscription for cloud-hosted storage of law-enforcement camera footage rather than a one-time software purchase, according to the staff explanation. The committee did not record individual roll-call votes in the meeting transcript.
