And this year was the year that many of those that were approved for 100% federal funding were being constructed. So rather than getting that 20% of those large bills coming through Bridge Aid for that 50% reimbursement for their local share, we had 0 in most of them. I think 1 of them was like 1,400 that they had and some some overages that they had to absorb.”
Committee members did not raise additional questions during the discussion. Vice Chair Dickinson moved to recommend approval and Member Soybert seconded; the committee recorded a 5-0 vote in favor. The committee’s action was a recommendation to the County Board, and the highway commissioner noted the item “will go on to County Board later tonight.”
