Staff reviewed each handicap application and recommended approvals for 195 Dover Street and 36 Baker Street; the panel voted to accept those recommendations. For 559 South Almond Street staff noted a landlord letter in the packet and the panel approved that request as well. Staff told the panel to allow about 12 weeks for installation once approved.
An application at 116 Bowler was denied after staff and members concluded the household had off-street parking. A staff member explained the board’s standard: "if they do have off street parking, that's an automatic disqualifier," and advised that exceptions are rare and require visible extenuating circumstances. The applicant was told she may reapply if circumstances change.
The panel also accepted rescission of reserved handicap spots at Downey, Maple, Pine, Durfee, Welly, Fulton, Merchant, Downey (second listing), Bailey's and Rock (as listed in the meeting packet). A motion to accept the rescinded spots was seconded and approved by voice vote.
Decisions recorded in the meeting were administrative approvals and one denial; no ordinances or statute citations were read during the session.
