Auburn reappoints Bill Hamm and appoints Dr. Kristen Herron to Industrial Development Board; Dolly Marshall reappointed to youth center

During the Committee of the Whole, the Auburn City Council reappointed former Mayor Bill Hamm to a new term on the Auburn Industrial Development Board and appointed Dr. Kristen Herron, superintendent of Auburn City Schools, to the board, Mayor Ron Anders said. Both appointments begin Oct. 10 and were described as six-year terms that run through 2031. The council also reappointed Dolly Marshall to the Lee County Youth Development Center; Anders said Marshall had served one full term and was reappointed to a second full term. During the regular meeting the mayor announced board vacancies: four openings on the Tree Commission (one vacancy fills an unexpired one-year term beginning immediately; three are new terms that begin Nov. 8, 2025 and end in 2028) and openings on the Educational Building Authority (six-year terms beginning in November and running through 2031). Anders encouraged residents to review board descriptions on the city website and apply; tree-commission appointments will be made Oct. 21.
