Superintendent installs student trustees for 2025'26 school year; board holds reception

Superintendent Toni Presta administered the oath of office for the student trustees for the 2025'26 school year and the board recessed briefly afterward for a reception. "I am thrilled to install the trustees for the 2526 school year. We've had 2 student advisory meetings so far this year, so we're just getting started," Presta said. She told the board that about half of the student trustees are returning and half are new and described the group as "bright, interested, young people who wanna make positive changes in our school district and who are here to really represent the views of the students in our schools." After the swearing-in, trustees welcomed the student representatives. President Gallegos and several trustees offered brief congratulations and encouraged the students to bring information and issues to the board. The board adjourned to a brief trustee reception and a photo opportunity for the newly sworn student trustees.
