Committee approves $20,000 addition to GoGo Technologies account for on‑demand rides

The Human Services Committee on Sept. 1, 2025, approved a resolution authorizing the Office of the Aging to enter into an agreement with GoGo Technologies, Inc., to add funds to an existing GoGo “grandparent” account established by the New York State Office for the Aging. Anita Madison told the committee the proposal would add $20,000 to the account to expand on‑demand transportation services for authorized users who lack other resources. She said the GoGo platform is the scheduling and payment platform used for these third‑party rides. The agreement term presented in the meeting was Sept. 1, 2025, through Aug. 31, 2026. A committee member confirmed the service would step in when people need rides and have no other resources. The committee also approved language authorizing the chair to sign the agreement subject to review of the terms and conditions by the county attorney’s office, as Madison requested. The motion to add funds and enter the agreement carried by voice vote; multiple members expressed that use of the platform has increased and that additional funds were needed to clear a short waiting list for riders, according to Madison.
