The Winchester School Committee approved a slate of policy updates recommended by the Massachusetts Association of School Committees affecting sections D (fiscal management), K (community relations) and L (education agency relations). The committee approved multiple policies at second reading, with the exception of policy DDA, which was pulled for a later policy subcommittee meeting.
Committee members said the policy subcommittee had spent months reviewing MASC redlines and that many documents had not been updated for a decade. The updates adopted included a mix of policies with no substantive change, minor changes and more substantive changes; the committee voted to add some new policies to the district manual and to delete KJA as recommended by MASC.
The committee approved the motion by roll call and recorded a unanimous vote.
