Reclaimed-water reservoir construction continues; project on schedule for 2026 completion

Staff reported to the Parks and Public Works Committee that construction of the reclaimed-water reservoir and distribution improvements — including a new 400,000-gallon reservoir and pump station on Ridge Street — is progressing and remains on schedule for completion before June 30, 2026. Andrew Vining and other staff said the contractor has completed major foundation pours and will pour reservoir walls in a series of pours later this month, with rebar reinforcement and lid work to follow. Prospect is the general contractor, a prestressed-concrete reservoir subcontractor is assembling the structure, and RH2 is providing construction management on site. Staff also said the city has submitted reimbursement requests under a state low-interest loan program and has received about $1.5 million in reimbursements to date for eligible design and preconstruction costs dating back to 2024. The project team said they are negotiating a change order related to a bird-protection delay and are seeking to offset those costs by negotiating credits for site-improvement scope with the contractor. The committee was told the project remains on schedule despite the earlier bird-related delay and that further photo updates will be provided as the next concrete pours occur.
