The City Council approved a resolution awarding a contract to Greenscape to upgrade the city irrigation system after staff said Greenscape was the only firm to return a responsive bid. City staff described the project as re‑wiring park irrigation to a two‑wire system, upgrading control panels and installing weather‑sensing control so the system will not water while raining or at freezing temperatures.
Staff said the project was originally budgeted at $75,000, but Greenscape’s bid came in at $19,500 for the package city staff evaluated. The council voted to approve the award at the Sept. 16 meeting; staff said the decision will move forward with a fully automated controller to replace an antiquated dial controller at Waterfront Park.
The item was presented as a procurement and contract award; council approved the resolution unanimously from members present.
