Bay City ISD staff reviewed the district’s Multi-Hazard Emergency Operations Plan and active-threat procedures with the board and said the plan is scheduled for submission to the state by Oct. 2. Officer Lewis and other staff members told trustees the plan consolidates best practices for emergency response before, during and after incidents and that staff had already completed the work ahead of the state deadline. The presentation was informational; no board action was required. Board members thanked staff for prioritizing student safety and said communication following incidents is important; staff said safety and communication protocols remain the district’s top priority. The plan will be filed with the state after the meeting.
