Charnot said Shorewood accounts for about 17.5% of police calls handled by BCC and contributes approximately 16.75% of the overall BCC budget. She said personnel costs are the largest part of the center’s expenses and that several senior dispatchers are at top pay scales. Charnot described a state grant administered by the Wisconsin Department of Military Affairs that designates BCC as a PSAP and provides funds for regional training and technology upgrades; she said the grant will offset some technology costs and that the center has applied for grant continuation next year. Trustees asked for the final Shorewood dollar amount once BCC finalizes its budget; Charnot said the center’s budget was being finalized that week and she would forward the detail to Shorewood staff when available. No formal village vote occurred on the dispatch budget at the meeting.
