Middletown High robotics team outlines season and regional hosting plans

MIDDLETOWN — Members of the Middletown High School Blue Dragon Robotics team presented a program highlight to the board, describing last year’s qualification for the VEX Robotics World Championship and plans for the 2025–26 season.
Coach Sam Falconberry and student leaders Mikaela Gabori, Isabella Burand and Natalie Aguilar described a 50-member roster across eight teams, a summer preparatory program, and plans to host the district’s annual MHS robotics state qualifier (historically about 70 teams from 30 Connecticut schools). The team said it will collaborate with other Connecticut programs to host a state VEX robotics championship in May 2026.
Student speakers thanked district advocates and staff supporters and described opportunities STEM and career-technical programming offers students across the district. Board members congratulated the students and coaches and invited them to keep the board apprised of competition results.
