The Logan Redevelopment Agency (RDA) will contribute $500,000 toward rebuilding the 1250 North and 200 East intersection as part of redevelopment work near the Cache Valley Mall, the RDA board confirmed Sept. 16.
Why it matters: The intersection project is connected to mall area redevelopment and is expected to improve traffic flow and support new development; the RDA’s half‑million‑dollar contribution is part of the project area budget adopted when the redevelopment plan was established.
Staff said the RDA project area budget originally estimated the contribution and that public works would fund the remaining costs. Bids were in hand and staff indicated construction would begin in the fall for minor work and continue with major roadway construction in the following spring.
A public hearing on the RDA budget amendment drew no public opposition. The RDA board approved the amendment and staff said the work schedule would be coordinated with city public works and private development schedules to minimize disruption.
The RDA contribution will be recorded in the project budget; staff will oversee coordination with public works on bid awards and construction timing and will report back as the project advances.
