The Community High School District 155 Board of Education approved several operations items Sept. 9, including a bid award of $8,000,611 for Prairie Ridge Stadium renovations, an $891,440 capital improvements package for theater-related work, and a contract extension for snowplow and salting services. Director of Operations Troy presented the three items and requested board approval; the motions passed by roll call after members moved and seconded each item. Troy also provided a recap of summer capital work: Crystal Lake Central received 58 replaced windows and roughly 33,000 square feet of new roofing with a 30-year warranty and a renovated special-needs restroom; Cary Grove saw an auxiliary gym renovation, conversion of a staff lounge into an FCS apartment with ADA-accessible kitchen areas, a new security vestibule and multipurpose room floor replacement; Prairie Ridge completed a final phase of window replacements (159 windows in the most recent phase, 490 windows across three summers) and auditorium seating and carpeting upgrades; Crystal Lake South upgraded its fire-alarm system to a fully addressable system; and TJA received infrastructure upgrades to support electric vehicle charging stations and electric buses. The board thanked the operations team for the projects and approved the snowplow contract extension with Langton Group for the upcoming winter season.
