The Greenfield Common Council on Sept. 16 approved an ordinance to rezone 6869 West Forest Home Avenue from C1 (Neighborhood Commercial) to C2 (Community Commercial) and a related resolution granting a special-use permit and site review that would allow the Mezcalero restaurant to use its kitchen to service and store up to two food trucks. The vote was 4 in favor, 1 opposed.
The rezoning and permit change are intended to bring a long-standing restaurant property into compliance and allow third-party food-truck operators to use Mezcalero’s commercial kitchen as a base for cleaning and servicing their vehicles. Planning staff told the council the change was recommended by the planning commission in August and that the requested operations would not allow the trucks to sell food on the parcel.
