The Wichita Falls City Council on Sept. 16 rezoned about 1.22 acres on Alma Street from limited office to general commercial to allow United Regional Healthcare System to build a 53,000-square-foot imaging center.
Fabian, city planning staff, said United Regional had purchased multiple parcels on both sides of an alley and wanted a contiguous zoning district and uniform development regulations for the project. Staff and the Planning and Zoning Commission recommended the rezoning; the council voted to approve the change.
Renderings of the proposed building were shared with council members during the presentation. Council members had no public objections during the hearing; the item passed on the council vote recorded at the meeting.
