Ron Lurch told the commissioners during public comment that Randall Cemetery needs grading and materials to stabilize uneven ground and to provide space for visitor parking. “There's just no room there to park that — it's really uneven. It needs something,” Lurch said, and offered to meet with county staff to show the problem.
Lurch also described an unrelated observation at a recent high-school football game to illustrate concern about student skills: after buying concessions, he said a teenage vendor returned incorrect change and "couldn't do the math off of the menu in his head." Lurch said that incident reflects broader concerns about education in local high schools.
No formal action was taken during the meeting on either Randall Cemetery or school instruction; Lurch asked commissioners to follow up and said he could provide a written bid to clean and repair the cemetery-adjacent property.
