Ward 2 Civic Association gets all-alcohol permits for two 'Sundays in the Park' events

The Board of License Commissioners on Sept. 16 approved two single-day all-alcohol special-use permits for the Ward 2 Civic Association’s fall “Sundays in the Park” events: Oct. 5 at Riverfield and Oct. 12 at Faxon Park, both from noon to 4 p.m.
Jim Gambino, appearing for the association, described the events as the third year of the program, with family-focused attractions including Busy Bee Jumpers inflatable slides, touch-a-truck exhibits with Quincy Police and Fire departments, solo musical performances (the applicant identified Jim Gambino as the performer on Oct. 5 and Matt Demo on Oct. 12), two food trucks and one ice cream truck at each event, and face painting. The applicant named food vendors as Lunch Box Concession, South Shore Taco Guy, Black Scribe Barbecue, Time Traveling, and Smiles by the Mile and said he would double-check that each vendor’s certificates were current.
The applicant identified Drifter’s Kitchen and Bar (owners Will Folaro and Andrew Moshe) as the on-site liquor service provider; the applicant said all bartenders are TIPS-certified. A board member reminded the applicant that food-truck operators must obtain fire-department permits through the city website. The board approved the two permits by voice vote.
