Commissioners continue Furniture Mattress Warehouse rezoning item to Oct. 21

Cobb County commissioners on Sept. 20 continued Other Business Item 37, a request from Furniture Mattress Warehouse LP related to a rezoning (Z-25 of 2021) for property on the south side of Piedmont Road and east side of Bells Ferry Road.
Staff reported the applicant was not present and that the applicant had discussed withdrawing the item but had not submitted a formal withdrawal. Commissioner Allen moved to continue the item to Oct. 21, 2025; the motion carried 3-0 with Commissioners Burrell and Cupid absent.
No substantive testimony was taken because the applicant was not present. The continuance preserves the applicant’s ability to appear on the Oct. 21 docket or to formally withdraw prior to that date.
