HRA seeks $1.18 million levy; awarded $3.7M in state funds for rental assistance and capital improvements

Jill Bankson, executive director of the Kandiyohi County Housing and Redevelopment Authority, presented the HRA’s 2026 tax levy request and a year-to-date program update at the Sept. 16 county board meeting. The board approved the levy request by motion.
Bankson told commissioners the HRA requested a 2026 levy of $1,181,512, representing a $31,062 increase — about 2.7% — over the current levy. "Of that budget amount, $150,000 of that will go to the housing trust fund to keep funding that annually," she said.
