Fowler Avenue sewer repair work moves to gravity flow; bypass pumps removed

Director Warrenfeldt (public works/utility operations) said manhole covers and lids have been installed on the replaced system, which should reduce odor complaints, and that the system is now operating in gravity flow rather than requiring continuous bypass pumping. He said some remaining roadway and rehabilitation work continues and that a TECO utility conflict requires directional drilling to relocate a line; those activities will extend the construction presence for a few more weeks.
Council members praised the crews and staff for the progress; the city manager and Public Works director said they expected final cleanup and restoration to continue through upcoming weeks and that they would remove staging and equipment once punch list items are completed.
