Kenilworth planning board reports multiple permits, Dunkin' Donuts compliance and one denied two‑family conversion

At the Sept. 10 Borough Council meeting, the municipal planning and zoning report showed August total receipts of $132,193, of which $118,041 were building fees, the council member reported.
The report said Dunkin' Donuts on the corner of Michigan Boulevard has completed resolution compliance and will be formalized at the Sept. 23 planning board meeting. The planning report listed several development items under review: a subdivision at North 20 First Street by Hormel Builders, an application for a front-yard fence on 17th Street to be addressed at the Sept. 23 meeting, and an application identified as "Onyx" at 2000 Galpinoe Road under construction with building permits filed.
The planning official also identified another subdivision at 530 Monroe and additional conversion and renovation applications under review, including a conversion attempt denied so far where a family sought to convert an existing property into a two‑family dwelling; that two‑family conversion application was denied as of the Sept. 10 report.
No formal planning approvals or denials were taken by the Borough Council at the Sept. 10 meeting; the report summarized active planning-board and building-permit activity and flagged items scheduled for the planning board’s Sept. 23 meeting.
