Ingrid Whitley, president and CEO of the Brook City Education Foundation, told the Park City School District Board that the foundation and district leadership have begun a planned review of the memorandum of understanding that defines the two organizations' working relationship.
Whitley told the board the current MOU was adopted in June 2022 and automatically renewed in December 2023, and that the agreement includes a clause calling for review in odd‑numbered years. She said the foundation funds programs and awards in the district totaling about $1,800,000 annually and that the MOU covers responsibilities including employment and fiscal roles, communications, confidentiality, access to information and dispute resolution.
Whitley said foundation and district leaders — she named Lindsay, Randy and Craig as participants in preliminary discussions — have prepared a draft and that her board has not yet formally reviewed the most recent edits. She urged that the district and foundation continue edits offline and planned to return to the board with a revised document; Whitley said the aim is to finalize and sign an updated MOU before the end of the calendar year.
The board did not take formal action at the meeting. Whitley offered to share both a clean and redlined draft with board members and to accept further suggestions before the foundation's board sees a final version.
Ending: The MOU review is a scheduled, collaborative process; district and foundation staff will continue edits and return a revised draft to the board in the coming months for formal consideration.
