The Emergency Management Communications District Board approved its proposed 2025–2026 budget and voted to file an annual certification with the Alabama 9-1-1 Board for the fiscal year ending Sept. 30, 2026 during a brief special-call meeting. Board members also approved the minutes of a Sept. 17, 2024 special meeting.
The actions were taken by voice vote after no members of the public addressed the board during the public-comment period. A motion to approve the budget was moved and seconded and carried on an oral "aye" vote; the meeting transcript records similar voice approval for the minutes and the certification vote.
The approval of the budget and the certification were procedural votes with no substantive debate recorded in the meeting transcript. The meeting record shows the agenda included three items: approval of minutes from the Sept. 17, 2024 special meeting, consideration of the proposed 2025–2026 Emergency Management Communications District Board budget, and consideration of an annual certification to the Alabama 9-1-1 Board for the fiscal year ending Sept. 30, 2026.
Board members closed the meeting with a motion to adjourn. One board member said, "I hope we learn to disagree better," before the meeting adjourned.
