Residents tell Park County commissioners they see septic trucks at disputed Aspag property; request enforcement

During public comment at the Park County Board of County Commissioners meeting on Sept. 17, resident Susie Bates raised ongoing concerns about activities at the Aspag property, reporting that septic trucks had been seen entering the site and that large tanks storing septage had been moved onto agricultural land.
Bates said the activity continued “as of this morning and yesterday,” and she asked the board to investigate potential ordinance violations and carry out enforcement actions. She said prior citizen meetings and complaints, including a noise complaint she submitted, have not produced the enforcement she seeks. Bates asked the county to act on legal advice it has reportedly received and to “do the right thing” to address ongoing violations.
Chair Dave Whistle acknowledged the comment and closed the public comment period after the speaker’s remarks. Commissioners did not announce enforcement actions during the meeting; the speaker requested investigation and enforcement and said the community remains concerned.
