Park County commissioners on Sept. 17 approved a resolution to cancel two uncollectible personal property tax accounts totaling $3,434.86, a county treasurer told the board.
Treasurer Amy Flint reported that two accounts were stricken from the assessor’s roll in 2025 after repeated attempts over one to two years to collect the taxes were unsuccessful; in one case the business had been out of operation since 2021. The commissioners described the action as a statutory cleanup to balance the tax roll where no collection is possible.
Chair Dave Whistle said the process is authorized by state law and that the resolution simply removes accounts the county cannot collect. The board approved the motion by voice vote, 3-0, and assigned the resolution number 20250029.
Commissioners did not change policy in the vote; the action was presented as a bookkeeping and compliance step to maintain an accurate tax roll.
