At Tuesday’s meeting the Board of County Commissioners approved routine consent items, including Resolution 25-261 to approve warrants and payroll and to adopt the minutes of the Sept. 9 Board of County Commissioners business meeting.
Tammy Martin, speaking on behalf of the Board of Equalization, said there are two vacancies: one regular member and one alternate. She reported recommendations to appoint Sean Kies (residing in Commissioner District 2) and Martha Hunt (residing in Commissioner District 1) to the board of equalization.
Reba Lester, clerk of the board, presented Resolution 25-268 to fill a vacancy on the Public Facilities District left by the death of Tom Krausson. Lester said the board would appoint Sandra Wing to serve the unexpired term through Aug. 31, 2027. “Sandra Wing has been active in the Twin Cities Sports Commission, and knows a lot about the finances,” a commissioner noted at the dais.
The board moved and seconded a block vote approving deliberation items 25-262 through 25-268 and then voted 3-0 to adopt the package. The consent items including Resolution 25-261 passed earlier in the meeting by the same margin.
County staff asked one of the presenters to remain after the meeting to sign documents; the clerk will process appointment paperwork per standard procedure.
