Public works staff described the project as fully designed and ready to advertise for construction once grant execution is complete. "We received notice a couple weeks ago that we were indeed awarded funding for our project," said the county presenter. He told commissioners the project was designed with an intent to seek TPF funds and that construction could begin as soon as next summer.
The resolution commits the county to the grant’s required 5% local match, reported as $60,500. County staff framed the award as part of a sustained multi-year benefit from the TPF program, noting the county had received five prior TPF awards totaling about $7.3 million across separate projects over the program’s six-year history.
A commissioner moved the resolution and, after a verbal unanimous vote, "motion carries." Staff said the county will proceed to execute the grant agreement and advertise the rehabilitation project for bidding.
