The Lawrence County Board of Commissioners approved a budget amendment Tuesday that transfers $2,147.50 in unbudgeted revenue into a maintenance account supporting the county’s 911/Statewide Project Westcore Essienet maintenance, under Resolution 312. County staff described the funds as received unbudgeted revenue and said they were moving the full amount into the Westcore Essienet maintenance expense fund.
County Administrator Gutierrez told the board the resolution pertains to 911/public safety and that the county will transfer the $2,147.50 into the designated maintenance account overseen by the public-safety team. "This pertains to the public safety department 9‑1‑1 specifically," a board member said during the vote discussion. The board approved the amendment by roll call.
Separately during the same meeting the board approved two additional transfer requests: central court requested $1,400 transferred from its contingency (broken into $900 for equipment and lease and $500 for maintenance), and the commissioners’ office requested $20,000 moved from the commissioners’ contingency to contracted services. Both transfers passed on roll call.
Commissioners noted the agenda text included a reference to the district attorney that staff believed was a misprint and that the board must rely on the resolution language. County staff confirmed the resolution language controls. No changes to staffing, programs, or service levels were recorded; the transactions were routine budget housekeeping to allocate received revenue and contingency balances to operating lines.
The board recorded the motions and approved each request. County finance and public-safety staff will process the transfers and reflect them in the county’s accounting records.
