The district honored Kelly King as Teacher of the Year and named Caitlin Scott and Rochelle Johnson classified staff of the year; awards and remarks were presented during the regular board meeting.
At its September regular meeting the DuBois School District recognized classroom and classified staff for the 2025โ26 school year. Doctor Walters, the district superintendent, announced Kelly King as Teacher of the Year and named Caitlin Scott and Rochelle Johnson as classified staff of the year.
Doctor Walters described King as "an exceptional educator whose influence reaches far beyond her classroom," noting that she "consistently inspires students from all backgrounds and abilities to reach their full potential." Walters said King is "poised and articulate, able to manage a busy and demanding schedule" and praised her advocacy for students and the teaching profession.
Caitlin Scott and Rochelle Johnson were honored as classified staff of the year. The superintendent highlighted Scott's work with elementary students, data collection skills and paraprofessional support; Johnson was recognized for supporting lunch procedures, recess supervision, scoreboard operations for athletics and her efforts raising funds for student equipment. Both Scott and Johnson were not present at the meeting; the board said certificates and tokens would be presented at a later date.
Board members offered a round of applause for the recipients and thanked staff across the district for their work.
