The DuBois School District Board voted to adopt updated versions of three student-related policies after a second reading at its September regular meeting. The policies approved cover student dismissal precautions, authorization for release of students for errands off school grounds, and a school-to-work agreement.
The revisions appeared as a second reading on the agenda and were presented to the board by Doctor Walters, the district superintendent. Board members moved to approve the policies; the board recorded the action and the motion passed with six votes in favor and one absence.
The updated documents were posted for board review in both a clean and an edited copy before the meeting. Doctor Walters noted the clean and edited copies were available for members and the public to inspect prior to the second reading.
Board members did not request amendments or remove items from the second-reading packet during the public meeting. Following the vote the board moved to enter executive session on personnel and student matters.
The approved policy documents are identified in the board minutes as: JHE, student dismissal precautions; JHE-R, authorization for release of students from school for errands off school grounds; and JHE-R-1, school-to-work agreement. The board recorded a 6-0 vote in favor with one member absent.
