The DeKalb County Board approved two preliminary engineering agreements on Sept. 15 to advance road and structure projects in different parts of the county. The board adopted Resolution R2025-077 to contract HR Green of Elora, Illinois, for the Peace Road structures and resurfacing project in the amount of $957,601.40. It also approved Resolution R2025-078 contracting Willett Hoffman & Associates (transcript name variant) for replacement of various structures at $698,895.
Both agreements were presented as preliminary engineering work to prepare plans, specifications and cost estimates required before construction bidding. A board member moved and the board approved both resolutions on roll-call votes. Presenters said the approvals allow staff to begin detailed design and right-of-way work required for state and federal funding applications where applicable.
Board finance and public works staff will track deliverables and return to the board with contract amendments or construction-award requests as projects move from engineering into procurement.
