The Village of Cary Village Board voted unanimously Tuesday to approve a $10,000 façade improvement and interior build-out grant to Cynthia Ann’s for renovations at 17 Janus Road. The business already obtained a village building permit for the project, which staff said will total about $150,000.
The grant is part of the village’s façade improvement and interior build-out program and would reimburse the business after the work is complete. Director Simmons told the board the $10,000 grant represents roughly 6% of the project’s estimated cost.
Board members expressed support for the project as a downtown improvement. Trustee Anthony Stefani said he hoped the work would further enhance the village’s entertainment corridor, referencing other downtown additions. After discussion the board approved the resolution by roll call vote; all trustees present voted yes.
Earlier in the meeting the board also approved its consent agenda (items A through E) by roll call and voted to allow Trustee Anthony Stefani to attend remotely for this meeting due to a work commitment. Those motions passed without recorded opposition.
The village staff said grant reimbursement will follow completion and submittal of required documentation; no additional funding or timeline details were provided during the meeting.
