Sammamish council ratifies resolution declaring certain Inglewood streets public

The Sammamish City Council voted Sept. 16 to adopt a resolution ratifying and confirming certain streets and rights-of-way in the Inglewood plat as City of Sammamish public streets.
Deputy Mayor Amy Lam moved to approve the resolution "to ratify, confirm, and declare as City of Sammamish public streets and right of way certain public streets and right of way in the plat of Inglewood." She said the measure followed community meetings in which residents asked the city to make the public status explicit so that municipal maintenance and services would be assured.
"I hope that this resolution gives everybody that lives there a peace of mind that the city of Sammamish will be servicing the streets in perpetuity and confirming that these are public streets," Lam said in support of her motion. The motion was seconded, the council voted, and the mayor announced the motion carried.
The resolution was prepared after staff and community review and was published to council and the Inglewood community before the meeting, the city said. Council did not amend the resolution on the dais; it was adopted as presented.
