The Community High School District 94 Board of Education approved a series of procurement and facilities items and policy updates at its Sept. 16 meeting, including equipment leases, facility repairs and policy adoptions.
The board approved a 60‑month lease with Pitney Bowes for two postage machines totaling $41,487.60. Trustees also approved a boiler repair proposal from Voris Mechanical, Inc., in the amount of $27,990 and approved pool drain repairs with two related actions: an invoice to American Trenchless Technologies for $25,849 to repair collapsed pool drain pipes and a Miller Concrete proposal for $16,105 to excavate up to three access holes and backfill them (which includes a $4,015 change order noted in the packet). Board members joked about a typographical error in a vendor quote that referenced a “torch wrench” instead of a “torque wrench” but approved the work.
The board also approved the personnel report, accepted donations under $500 noted in the packet and approved Press Plus issue 119 policy updates following a second reading. Roll calls on these items recorded aye votes from all members present; motions and seconds were made from the floor during the consent and new business votes.
Nut graf: Several routine but budgetary and facilities‑impacting items were approved to keep operations and maintenance moving forward ahead of planned capital projects and scheduled work.
Ending: Board minutes and financial reports were approved as part of the consent agenda and members moved to closed session on collective bargaining at the meeting’s close.
