The City of Highwood City Council on Sept. 16 approved a motion directing the mayor to sign an easement agreement with Nightingale 1 LLC for access across the parking lot adjacent to the train station. Councilmembers moved and seconded the measure and took a roll-call vote. The council recorded multiple ayes and at least one recorded no vote; the public roll call concluded with the mayor calling “Motion passes.” City staff noted there was no financial liability to the city for the easement. Council members did not discuss financial terms at length during the public meeting. The council recorded the item in the meeting minutes and proceeded to subsequent agenda items, including engineering contract approvals and an executive session later in the evening.
