Communications staff told the Brentwood Communications Committee they will develop and issue an RFQ to hire a branding vendor to create a citywide logo and implementation plan, with a draft to be reviewed in October and an RFQ issued on or before Dec. 1, 2025. Michelle (communications staff) reported the board approved the finalized communications plan and that the committee is moving into implementation of the branding work.
Why this matters: A single, citywide brand aims to reduce fragmentation across department materials and create a consistent identity for resident communications and public-facing materials.
Michelle said the committee will draft a research brief and an RFQ and highlighted three priorities for the brief: community engagement during the process, cross‑departmental integration so the logo works across city services, and actionable implementation guidance. She told the committee the project budget “looks like we have about 50,000 that we can allocate to this project with the hopes that it it comes in under that.”
Michelle said the committee reviewed Maplewood’s recent RFQ as a model; Maplewood reportedly received about 21 responses, which committee members cited as an indicator of market interest. The committee did not take a formal vote; staff said they will return with a draft RFQ for committee review in October and aim to account for holidays when setting response deadlines.
Ending: Staff will develop the RFQ and timeline, return to the committee with a draft in October, and aim to issue the RFQ on or before Dec. 1, 2025, with responses anticipated mid‑January.
