Council approved two planning-commission recommendations after brief presentations by applicants and planning commissioners.
The first approval granted a parking setback/cutout on Miramar Boulevard for New Vista Enterprises/Jesu Church as a phase of an outdoor learning space. The planning commission conditioned approval on the paved cutout meeting roadway standards, Jesu Church (the applicant) being responsible for maintenance and plowing, and the new marked parking spaces receiving final approval by both the chief building official and the police chief before installation. Mike Bryant (planning staff) read those conditions; applicant Mike Sigler and Megan Johnston (church representative) were present and did not request further comment. Council voted by roll call to approve the commission’s recommendation with the stated conditions.
The second approval concerned 2660 Milton Road, where the owners sought demolition of an existing single-family house and site-plan approval for a new single-family residence. Planning recommended approval conditioned on the property owner and the builder entering a development agreement and posting a bond. Planning staff and commissioners noted the lot survey showed the lot was slightly narrower than standard (by about 3.5 inches), which drove the need for a side-yard variance previously granted. Commissioners also flagged basement window wells and explained that an unfinished basement does not create an immediate need for lower-level egress approvals but that any future finished basement bedrooms would require permits or variances. Council approved the planning recommendation by roll call.
